  • A. Poppets are pressure unloading valves set to trip just before full turn is reached in each direction. When this procedure is completed correctly, system pressure will be reduced before the axle stop screw contacts the axle stop in both directions

  • A. When the pump relieves, it relieves the heated oil back into the inlet of the pump and not the reservoir. This oil temperature exceeds the 250 ?F shaft seal tolerance

  • A. The poppets are not operating when the wheels are turned full left and right to the axle stop (for an extended period). The pump relief valve is working all the time and creates an overheating condition in the system when the poppets are not working.
